BAYO Blouse
Printed Bodycon Skirt from BANGGOOD.COM
CENTROPELLE Shoes
Skull Earrings from LI'S CLOSET
Today's look is a mesh of vintage-inspired pieces to create a modern and trendy outfit. Creating a look doesn't just depend on what clothes you wear, but more importantly how you put them all together. Common sense? Yes. But sometimes we do forget these simple things :)
For example, I didn't think I'd be wearing a poet blouse anytime soon. Frankly, I'm not a fan. Usually, my blouses have crisp collars instead of lacy and frilly ones. I made an exception for this top though. The first thing I loved about it was its neutral peach-pink color; I also loved the fact that it's in a light chiffon fabric. But overall, it was just really pretty. I was lucky enough to get it for half the price during one of Bayo's big sales. Hurray for bargains!!!
I styled this blouse by pairing it with a printed bodycon skirt from Banggood.com. I thought I'd match this Victorian-inspired blouse with my skirt's Victorian-inspired print. The elaborate design of the skirt was also a striking contrast against my neutral top. Skirts with similar prints are so in right now. The more embellished, the trendier. Check out Banggood.com's clothing for women, and choose from their wide selection of loud and printed skirts.
Finally, I put on some skull stud earrings from Li's Closet for a subtle accent. Plus, I figured I was channeling the whole Shakespeare look anyway hahaha...(okay, not really :P)
So that's today's outfit. It's a mix of contrasting and complementing elements to create something that works for me. I do hope you liked it. So, how do you transform your vintage favorites into your current trends? I'd love to know
